Website Link: 3 Peaks Mountain Race – because one is never enough
Named after the three peaks of Flagstaff (668m), Swampy (739m) and Mt Cargill (676m), the 3 Peaks takes runners and walkers up some of Dunedin’s most beautiful trails through lush native bush where they are rewarded with incredible panoramic views.
The 55km 3 Peaks Plus 1 adds one of the high points of the Silverpeaks, Pulpit Rock (760m), and even more amazing terrain and trail. The 55km event is also the NZ & Otago short course trail running championship.
The 3 Peaks Mountain Race starts and finishes within 4km of the city centre and yet accesses some stunningly wild and remote trails and hills. This is probably one of the most easily accessible mountain trail races in New Zealand
Other events include the 3 Peaks 26km and Race (over) the Summitt 11km. Entrants can run or walk the distance.
Run and organised by Leith Harrier & Athletics Club.
