Otago Spring Challenge


The Otago Spring Challenge

is a collaborative initiative between Athletics Otago and the University of Otago.

This open 3000m event welcomes participants from secondary school age and above from the community, University, or affiliated clubs. Following the success of last year's competition, races will be organised into A and B divisions according to submitted seed times and entry volume. Competition numbers can be collected from the Control Room at the Caledonian Ground and must be visibly worn on the front during the race. Please return your competition number following the completion of your event.

Cash prizes, generously provided by Professor Philip Hill and Athletics Otago, will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers:

1st Place – $150 2nd Place – $75 3rd Place – $25

In addition, University of Otago students are eligible for the Lovelock Medal, which will be presented to the first male and female student to finish.

Certificates will also be awarded to the top three finishing University of Otago students.

A prizegiving ceremony and refreshments will be held after the final event in the Caledonian Ground Function Room (Level 2, Grandstand).

Entry Fee: $15, payable online through the Eventplus Entry portal.

This year a Social 3000m has been included for those wanting to justt give it a go. Still need to enter online and pay an entry fee of $5.50

Results will be available on Webscorer.com, the Athletics Otago website and the Athletics Otago Facebook page.
