Athletics Otago - SI Colgate Games 2024

South Island Colgate Games - Dunedin - 12-14 Jan 2024

Athletics Otago is excited to be hosting the next South Island Colgate Games to be held at the Caledonian Ground 12th, 13th & 14th January 2024.  The event is run in collaboration with Athletics NZ.

Established in 1978, the Colgate Games is New Zealand’s largest athletics competition for children aged 7 to 14 and annually attracts around 2000 participants between both the North & South Island events.

Entries open in early October so book your accommodation in Dunedin now and plan to join us for the 46th Colgate Games.

Entries are now closed.  We are excited to welcome over 1000 entrants and their families to Otepoti Dunedin. If you have any questions about entries please contact competitions@athletics.org.nz.

Clubs will now have full lists of athletes who have entered and will be working through relay teams.


Any club registered athlete aged 7 to 14 years as at 31 December 2023 can enter the Colgate Games. Entries open mid October & are coordinated thru your Club.  Held over 3 days, you can enter up to 5 events.

Multiple opportunties to help from setup & set down, merchandise & gate sales, call tent, runners, catering, certificates. The list is long!  You tell us how you want to help.

If you are an existing ANZ Official please get in touch or register online once ANZ open the EOI.  If you want to begin your journey we can get you ready in time with your C Grading.
