Otago Cross Country Champs - Sun 16 July - Chisholm Park Golf Links - Dunedin


Open to both Community & Club Registered Runners & Walkers BUT only a Registered Competitive Athletics Otago Athlete can take an Otago Title.

Sunday 16 July 2023 - Chisholm Park Golf Links -  16 Tahuna Road - Dunedin - First Race 10:15am

Entries close Saturday 15th July at 6:00pm.  Entries will be received after this time on payment of a $10 late fee.

EVENT 1:  10.15 am 

10am Warm Up - Ariki Kids Cross Country Event for U10 years 1km Fun Run  Sign Up or Turn up on the Day. 

EVENT 2:  10.35 am 

Participants 15+ can choose to Run or Walk the Open 4km which is not a Championship event.

Championship Events (Community Runners can enter but cannot take an Otago Title)

Boys & Girls U12 run 2km (1 lap) (U10 can chose to enter this race instead of the Fun Run)

Boys & Girls U14 run 3km (1&half lap)

Boys & Girls U16 & Masters Women 65+ run 4km (2 laps)

Women U18 run 5km (2&half lap)

EVENT 3:  11:10 am 

Men U18, Women U20,  Masters Women 35-64 & Masters Men 65+ run 6km (3 laps)

Men U20 & Masters Men 35-64 run 8km (4 laps)

Senior Men & Senior Women run 10km (5 laps)

Ages are taken as at 31 December 2023 except that Masters ages are on the day

Toilet and changing facilities are available at the Chisholm Links Golf Club. 

Competition Number/Bib: All athletes are required to check in 20 min prior to the start of the race to collect their race bib.  Bibs will be collected immediately after the race.  Does not apply to the U8 Fun run.

Medal & Certificate Presentations for most grades will be held in the Chisholm Links Golf Club at 12 noon. Presentations for the U16, U14, U12 grades will be held at the completion of these events. Medals will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in each age group. Certificates will be awarded to the winning team in each age group and the placegetters in the Open 4 km Run & Walk.

Athletics Otago Winter Points Event: This race attracts the following points for registered athletics Athletics Otago members; 5 points for participation, 3, 2,1 for placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd respectively.

The Otago team for the NZ Cross Country Championships will be announced after entries have closed on the Athletics NZ website.
